Oklahoma Election Board Addresses Comanche County Election Results Delays

State election officials say reporting problems in Comanche and Cleveland counties did not affect the election results themselves.

LAWTON, Okla. — November 4, 2026 — Oklahoma State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax issued a statement Wednesday addressing technical problems that delayed the reporting of election results in Comanche and Cleveland counties following Tuesday’s general election.

According to Ziriax, the two counties experienced separate technical issues that temporarily prevented election results from being reported through the state’s online election reporting system.

The Secretary emphasized that the problems involved transmitting and reporting election results to the State Election Board, rather than the election results themselves.

Comanche County Results Being Entered Manually

In Comanche County, election officials continued manually entering results into the state’s reporting system on Wednesday, November 4.

Ziriax confirmed that technical personnel, election officials, and county election board staff worked throughout election night and into Wednesday to resolve the reporting issues.

Cleveland County experienced a separate problem, which officials resolved by using a backup system to upload its results.

The Secretary stated that the State Election Board’s priority was to ensure the accuracy of the reported results, even when resolving technical problems required additional time.

Statewide Voter Turnout Exceeds One Million

According to the statement, more than one million Oklahoma voters participated in Tuesday’s general election.

However, overall turnout and the number of ballots cast were lower than in the previous two gubernatorial election years, 2018 and 2022.

Ziriax acknowledged that high early-voting participation had raised expectations for greater overall turnout, but those expectations were not realized.
