Tiffiney Dimery defeats incumbent George Gill in Ward 4 runoff as residents weigh in on the direction of northeast Lawton.
Lawton, Okla. –Ward 4 voters have chosen a new voice for the Lawton City Council.
In a special runoff election held on November 18, 2025, Tiffiney Dimery defeated incumbent George Gill, securing the Ward 4 seat after neither candidate reached 50 percent in the initial September election.
The runoff capped a months-long campaign that included a crowded first-round ballot, a Chamber of Commerce forum, and steady debate over development, basic services, and the future of northeast Lawton. At the Lawton–Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce forum, Gill and Dimery appeared side-by-side to answer questions from Ward 4 residents on issues ranging from crime and infrastructure to economic growth.
On election night, results were posted at the Comanche County Courthouse, where early, absentee, and election day precinct returns were released as they came in. Lawton Town Crier was on site as the numbers were updated and the runoff result became clear.
Dimery’s victory unseats an incumbent and signals a desire for change among Ward 4 voters. How that change will play out at City Hall remains to be seen. The new councilmember will soon be asked to vote on key questions involving TIF districts, development projects, and core city services that affect residents across Lawton.
