Lawton Releases Draft “One Lawton” Comprehensive Plan Through 2050

The City of Lawton has released the draft One Lawton Comprehensive Plan, a long-range planning document intended to guide the city’s growth and development through 2050.

According to the City, the plan brings together land use, transportation, economic development, and quality-of-life priorities into a unified framework for the community’s future.

Residents are encouraged to review the draft plan online and attend a public open house on March 23 from 4:30–6:30 p.m. in the Banquet Room of Lawton City Hall.

The City of Lawton has released the draft One Lawton Comprehensive Plan, a long-range planning document that will guide the city’s growth and development through 2050.

Residents are encouraged to review the draft plan online at lawton.planyourcity.com and attend a public open house on March 23 from 4:30–6:30 p.m. in the Banquet Room of Lawton City Hall to learn more and provide feedback.

The plan is the result of two years of collaboration between City staff, consultants, and community members. Through workshops, surveys, and stakeholder meetings, residents helped shape a vision that brings together land use, transportation, economic development, and quality-of-life priorities for Lawton’s future.

Key strategies in the plan include targeted redevelopment areas such as the Cache Legacy Corridor and Downtown Lawton, expanded housing opportunities, improved walkability, and reinvestment in existing neighborhoods.

The plan also emphasizes neighborhood revitalization, quality-of-life improvements, and infrastructure investments aligned with the Directions 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan.
